Network Marketing…Why Do Many Forget the Marketing Piece?

When you join a network marketing company the first thing that most people are taught is to go out and make a list of 200 people they know and they are told to call each and every person on that list. They are told not to pre-judge and don’t assume that no-one will not be interested, call them ALL.

I have to admit, I was a victim of this same type of strategy, it was taught to me and I passed on to my team. I always say, “what you don’t know is ignorance but once you do know and you don’t do better, that’s foolish” So, at that time, I was ignorant to the fact that calling 200 people that can care less about my business opportunity was a complete waist of my time. However, now that I know better I am doing better.

The concepts of creating this list of 200 people and calling them, doing warm chatter, roaming malls, 3-foot rule conversations, home parties, and cold calling, is all on the network side of a network marketing. But what happened to the marketing side? This is the piece that many distributors forget to teach their new team members. The marketing piece of your business is extremely imperative and if you don’t do it effectively you will fail within your first 3 months of doing business.

There are several ways to market your business and one of the most effective ways to do it, is on the internet. I can not stress to you how viral it is to make sure you promote yourself on the internet. As you noticed, I didn’t say market your business on the internet, I said “YOURSELF”. Some may ask, what do you mean by that? Well, let me explain. See, most people don’t care about your business, the founders, or the products or services you are selling. But what they do care about is how you are going to help them make money…PERIOD!!!

So, unless you are armed and ready to show them how you are going to do that, they are not going to join your team. Keep in mind that people join people, people don’t join opportunities. People want to work with someone that they know can lead and coach them towards reaching their financial goals. If they see this in you, they will join YOU!!
